Our prayer is that the Rivermont Youth Program will be a space for community, learning, service, and fun! Youth (grades 6 through 12) will learn about who they are as God’s beloved children, form deep and supportive relationships with one another and the congregation, engage with God’s Word in Scripture, have space to ask questions, and explore their trust in Jesus Christ. All of this is done with the intent of equipping our youth to claim their own faith and to join in God’s work in the world. All are welcome here!
FALL KICKOFF/PROMOTION PARTY AUGUST 22
BEGINNING SEPTEMBER 12
Sunday School, 10 am in the Youth Room
Sunday Evenings 5-7 pm in the Youth Room
Many Sunday nights our youth are split between Middle School (6-8 grade) and High School (9-12 grade) for times of Bible study, fellowship, and games. Periodically we combine and all meet together. Currently most of our meetings are outdoors at the church.
For information on joining our Sunday evening hangouts, reach out to Margaret Poteet, Associate Pastor, at .
Please talk to Margaret if you are a 9th, 10th, or 11th grader and interested in Confirmation. Classes will be Sundays from 4-5 pm this fall.
The Presbytery of East Tennessee coordinates a retreat for Middle Schoolers each September and a retreat for High Schoolers every winter/early spring.
Each summer, Rivermont youth are invited to participate in the Montreat Youth Conferences. These are amazing experiences that allow youth to grow in their faith and meet new friends. High School students (rising 9th-graduated 12th grades) go to the Montreat Conference Center in North Carolina. Middle School students (rising 6th-graduated 8th grades) attend the Middle School conference at Maryville College in Maryville, TN.
Other fun events, such as hiking trips or lock-ins happen throughout the year.
Mission/Outreach Youth participate in many of the amazing mission opportunities Rivermont offers. From downtown Chattanooga to Honduras, youth join in the work God is doing all over the world. Mission trips typically occur during summer breaks, and service opportunities are available year round.
