Peace & Justice
Concerned members formed a group to respond to the death of George Floyd in June 2020. The Peace & Justice group coordinates participation in Chattanooga protests, working with Chattanooga in Action for Love, Equality and Benevolence (CALEB), buying and distributing Black Lives Matter yard signs, and writing local, state, and national representatives.The group sponsors one-time small group book studies, which have included I’m Still Here byAustin Channing Brown, and How to be an Antiracist by Ibram X. Kendi.
Women need other women, yet often neglect this important element of self-care. Every other Wednesday at 6:30 pm, adult women discuss a book to help make sense of this hectic, conflicted world. Along the way, friendships form and deepen. Shalom Sistas will resume meeting in fall of 2021. Email if you want to be included in the email distribution for this group.
Jesus is the A-Team; the rest of us are on the B squad. Adult men gather (at Pastor Clay’s house in normal times, on Zoom during COVID) to talk confidentially, without judgment. B-Team meets every other Thursday at 7 pm.
Socially distanced, wearing a mask, for all who have had 2 vaccinations. This group will resume meeting Wednesdays 11-12 a.m. in the Robinson room in the near future.
Rivermont offers women meaningful ways to live out their faith within a caring community. Membership in RPW is open to all women. Two circles meet the second Monday at 10:30 am each month. The night circle meets the first Wednesday at 7 pm each month. Bible Study, fellowship, and encouragement flow at both times.
